WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN IN ROSTOV?

Freedom has special meaning for the Jews of Rostov. This city suffered the largest extermination of Jews in Russia during WWII, with more than 28,000 people murdered by the Nazis in two days. Rostov Jews also lived for 70 years under Soviet rule, with almost no opportunities to express their Jewish heritage and faith. The celebration of Passover has profound meaning for our community, who experienced living under tyranny for decades.

SUPPORT OUR PASSOVER CAMPAIGN

The Jewish Community of Rostov runs the only synagogue, school system and community center for the entire Jewish population of Rostov, many of whom live in extreme poverty. When you support our efforts, you are having a direct impact on Jewish men, women, children, and seniors in the city. This year we will be hosting over 800 people at  5 sedorim for youth and families, with a special seder  for Holocaust survivors; and we will be distributing 3,500 boxes of Matzah, and hundreds of holiday food packages for the needy through our Maos Chitim campaign.
